THE PM. AS I SEE IT
A project manager is the necessary filter/bridge amongst final clients and internal working divisions
A valuable project manager has the ability to “translate” clients needs into effective tasks for each dev department conceiving at the same time the whole project’s vision and timeline
It also means that an efficient project manager speeks two different languages:
the simplest possible one while relating to the end customer and the technical one when briefing internal staff or external suppliers.
That’s essential to avoid misunderstandings while conveying needed requirements from client to dev departments
A careful project manager actively oversee each single phase of the work done in order to ensure budget, timeline and requirements are met
An helpful project manager is always ready to influence the work in progress, serving on the plate his wide workflow’s knowledge and getting his hands dirty if complications arise
A trained project manager knows the difference between waterfall and agile approach, is a problem solver and systemic thinker
A smart project manager is a team builder and act as the glue between each department making them understand the big picture in order to work towards one main goal.
AND THAT’S WHY I LOVE MY JOB
